Title IV, Effective Use of Technology
The Title IV, Effective Use of Technology Grant is funded as part of the Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant in Title IV, Part A, of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) from the U.S. Department of Education. These statewide activity dollars are intended to support school districts with training, technical assistance, and capacity building specific to the well-rounded educational opportunities, safe and health students, and the effective use of technology. This grant will be awarded to a single intermediate school district for the purpose of enhancing the effective use of technology in schools by coordinating and integrating educational technology programs.
This grant supports Top 10 in 10 Strategic Goals 2, 3, and 6. Goal two, strategy one, four, six, and eight.
Primary Grant Activities:
- Advancing the creation and transfer of student level digital badges from local district Student Information Systems to the MI Data Hubs for ultimate inclusion on talent transcripts.
- Developing Instructional Technology infrastructure supports for engaging student level curriculum support tools (i.e. Minecraft), including training, and professional development.
- Refinement of curriculum support materials on #GoOpen Michigan microsite. This work will include enhanced use of, integration with SISs and refinement and alignment of OERs at the object, unit, collection and course levels.
