Competitive 99h: Robotics Competition Grant

The fiscal year (FY) 2020 State School Aid Act, Section 99h appropriated $4,400,000 for the 2020-21 school year for competitive grants to districts that provide pupils in grades K-12 with expanded opportunities to improve mathematics, science, and technology skills by participating in events hosted by science and technology development program known as FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) or other competitive robotics programs, including those hosted by Square One , Robotics Education and Competition (REC) Foundation known as VEX, VEX IQ, and RAD.

99h: Robotics Competition Grant Program

Public Act 367 of 2016, Protection of Pupil Privacy, requires that the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) post on their websites a notice of the information collected for a pupil’s education records, including an inventory of all pupil data elements and a description of each pupil data element.  A requirement of the FIRST Robotics grant states:

  • Provide MDE with an electronic roster.  - Template is listed below.
